What you get to do:
- Develop, document, and implement operations safety programs, policies, and procedures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure safety protocols align with operational needs and comply with relevant regulatory requirements.
- Create and distribute safety communications to promote awareness and best practices.
- Facilitate safety committee meetings, encouraging collaboration and discussion on safety improvements.
- Assist in incidents and accident investigations, determining root causes and implementing corrective actions.
- Track and maintain injury and incident-related documentation, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Actively participate in the BBS program to promote safe behaviors, reduce hazards, and improve the overall safety culture.
- Observe working conditions, equipment, processes, and behaviors to identify safety problems and take corrective action.
- Conduct on-site facility inspections to identify potential safety hazards and make recommendations to eliminate or reduce risks.
- Collaborate with teams to implement corrective and preventive actions based on inspection findings.
- Develop safety-related reports and metrics to analyze trends, assess performance, and identify areas for improvement.
- Communicate and present metrics to operations managers, leadership, and associates in team huddles.
- Provide training to employees on newly developed safety programs.
- Monitor annual safety compliance programs.
- Collaborate with the Training department to support other safety-related training initiatives.
- Support Safety Programs to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies and state regulations.
- Collaborate with internal and external customers, addressing their needs promptly and effectively.
What you bring:
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 2+ year's of safety experience in a warehouse setting preferred
- Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and prioritization skills
- Proficiency in MS Office and safety management software
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
- Professional certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Associate Safety Professional (ASP) preferred, or willing to obtain them within 2 years in the position.
